Answer 1:

John Barnes is an iconic and prolific producer, composer, arranger, musician, and humanitarian. Question 2:

How will the money being raised for the Heal John Barnes Go Fund Me campaign be utilized?

Answer 2:

The funds raised will go towards paying outstanding caregiving as well as future caregiving expenses for John Barnes.  In addition, rehabilitation therapies, treatments and equipment not covered by insurance are necessary for John Barnes to transition from being bedridden to being able to walk again. A portion of the funds will cover household and administrative expenses, as John Barnes has been unable to work.

Question 3:

Why is $100,000 the fundraising goal for the Heal John Barnes Go Fund Me campaign?

Answer 3:

Monthly 24/7 caregiving expenses are estimated to be $23,000.  There are outstanding caregiving bills that need to be paid immediately as well as future bills. John Barnes has been bedridden for many months.  John will need intensive rehabilitation therapies and treatments not covered by insurance in order to be able to get out of bed and walk.  We expect it may take some months before John is able to return to work.  The $100,000 is intended to help cover short-term medical and household expenses so that John Barnes can be healed enough to work and earn income.

Is my financial contribution to the Heal John Barnes Go Fund Me campaign tax-deductible?

Answer 4:

No. Heal John Barnes is a Go Fund Me fundraising campaign that was started by concerned friends and family of John Barnes and is not a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)3 status.  Thus, contributions made to the Heal John Barnes Go Fund Me campaign are not tax-deductible.

Question 5:

Does John Barnes qualify for Medi-Cal?

Answer 5:

No, John Barnes does not qualify for Medi-Cal.
